upshifts are much easier than downshifts to get right. I like driving with the doors off and having my leg hanging outside the Jeep on the running board and dowshifting and coming to a stop w/o ever moving my left leg. Then the person that was behind me pulls up next to me at a light and looks over and sees the 5spd and they get this really puzzled look on their faces, it’s great :-) The only thing I use the clutch for when I am not in a hurry in the Jeep is starting off, then just shift nice and easy as I am driving along with top off in the sun. You just push or pull the stick into position for the next gear and put light pressure on it. When the rpms are right it will fall right into gear with no drama. Dowshifting is harder because you have to blip the gas and catch the gear as the rpms fall. I still get jerky dowshifts quite often if I am not really paying attention. I have been able to do this in several cars quite easily. I have been too scared to try it in the Z tho. Mike
